Located among the Maikal mountain ranges, this serene temple is said to have been built between the 8th to 11th century.
The temple is said to have been built during the reign of The Naga dynasty under King Ramchandra.Main Deity - This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is seen here in Shivaling form which is hand carved. Besides, Lord Vishnu and his avtaars, Lord Ganesha, Uma-Maheswar, Narsimha, Vaman, Natraj, Krishna, Kaal Bhairava, Suryaare seen too.
The main temple can be broadly divided into two parts. The main Mandapam has a high podium on which the Shivling sits. The lord is east facing. The main mandapam has high roofs and four pillars at its center.
Most of the architecture, especially the Shikhara (crowning) follows the Odisha mode of architecture. The outer precinct has gardens decorated with bamboo, Arjun and Gulmohar trees.
