The Bharatiya Hindu Temple at Ohio, is not just a place of worship. It is a place where the growing Indian community is connected back to their roots in a distant land.

This temple is located in Powell, Ohio, United States and was built in the year 1994.

Main Deities:- Similar to the Hindu temples in USA, this temple also houses shrines of various deities under one roof. The deities are - Sri Jagannath, Sri Venkateswara, Lakshmi, Ganesha, Gayatri, Durga, Saraswathi, Shiva, Parvati, Kartikeya, Sree Raama, Radha Krishna and the Navagrahas.

Architecture:- The entire temple is a red brick structure. There are few steps leading towards the entrance of the temple. The flag and emblem decorate the temples roof. The steps take you to the main sanctum which is a large, square room. This room is flanked by shrines of various Gods and Goddesses on its three sides. Devotees stand at the center of the room and offer their prayers.

Festivals/Prayers:- Devotees can offer prayers to the deities during regular temple hours. Poojas during certain special like Naamkaran (Naming ceremony), Upanayan (Thread ceremony), Satyanarayan Puja, Vehicle Puja etc can also be done here but needs prior notice.

A ceremonial Yatra also takes place, where the deities are taken out on a procession in a decorated chariot.

Major festivals like Ganeshotsav, Navratri, Dussera, Diwali and Jagannath Puja are celebrated with great Pomp.

Community Involvement:- The temple offers music classes and education in languages like Tamil, Hindi, Gujarati, Sanskrit etc. These classes are available across all age groups.

Regularly, classes are held to make people aware of Hindu philosophy, Indian customs and traditions.

The temple also conducts mid year blood donation programs. Free health consultation, Ayurveda clinics and medication programs for the needy and uninsured are also available.
