Shajahanpur in Uttar Pradesh is named after the famous Mughal emperor Shahjahan. Although the place is well known for many Mazaars and Masjids commensurate with the Mughal empire; the Hanuman statue is also another major attraction of this place. The statue is built situated at Visrat Ghat and the Khannaut river flows nearby. The platform is connected to the main road via a bridge. This place is aptly called the "Hanumant Dhaam"
Specialties:- The statue of Shree Hanuman stands at 108 feet and is the third largest in the world after - Veer Abhaya Anjaneya Hanuman Swami in Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh and Hanuman Murti in Shimla
The statue is sindoori (orange) in color. Shree Hanuman is seen here standing up with his chest split open and images of Shree Ram-Sita located inside his chest. His weapon of choice Gada (mace) is resting right next to his statue.
Apart of Shree Hanuman there are idols of lord Shiva, Parvati, Shree Ganesha, Sun and Saraswati within the Hanumat Dham. Everyday Pujas and aartis are done. This is a place where one can can a dip in the river while praying or just to cool off.With a lot of greenery around, the place is also used as a walking area.
