The Idol of Lord Hanuman was installed by Sadguru Gopalanand Swamy
(1781–1852) who is the founder of this temple and is considered the manifestation of Lord Vishnu
, He is thus regarded as Anadi Mahamuktaraj throughout the Swaminarayan Sampraday. In 1899, the Vadtal Gadi
of the Swaminarayan Sampraday appointed a saint from Shastri Yagnapurushdas
, who managed the eventuality of the Shri Hanuman Temple and renovated the temple. A Brahmin
householder is assigned to conduct daily rituals and undertake entire responsibility of this temple.
Gopalanand Swamy Installed Kashtbhanjan Hanumanji Idol in Sarangpur

It is reported that when Gopalanand Swamy mounted Idol of Lord Hanuman, He touched with the image with a rod, and immediately the Idol came alive and moved. Today this rod can been seen covered in silver color. Since then this tale has turned into a chartered for the healing ritual performed at this temple.

The statue of Kashtbhajan Hanumanji (the crusher of sorrow) in the temple is a stout solid figure with a handlebar moustache, who is crushing a demon women under his foot and baring his teeth, standing between the sculpted flora full of fruit bearing monkey followers.

The Sadguru Gopalanand Swamiji
installed this Hanumanji Idol on Ashwini Vadi Pancham in sawant 1905. The Hanuman Idol of this temple is so powerfull that it is well known for expelling evil spirits and Ghosts from the people who are suffering from mental illness and other such related problems. The effected are thus brought into this temple to be touched by the rod used by Sadguru Gopalanand Swamy during the installation ceremony of this image and ordained to circumambulate
the shrine a number of times for getting rid of the impact of witchery permanently while taking special oath and reciting the Swaminarayan Mahamantra
. This rod can be seen now covered with silver coat.

This temple is mostly visited by devotees on Saturdays as this day is meant auspicious to worship Lord Hanuman and has his darshan. People coming to this temple collect water from the wall and distribute Sukhdi
sweet (Gujarati sweet dish) in the temple premises. There is a bookstall in the temple which sell Hanuman Chalisa books in various languages in different forms and sizes in affordable rates. The regular recitation of Hanuman Chalisa gives one strength and mental peace in his life.
